It was only last year that I was introduced to the comedy of Eddie Izzard, a British comedian whose genius I felt like I really should have been familiar with much, much earlier. Not only is he hilarious, but his jokes seem to come from a place that is very well informed and brutally reflective of society.
Below is some of Eddie Izzard’s stand up on the topic of language in general, but also jesting at some of the simplistic and barely useful material we may be taught in a classroom when just embarking on the path to learning a new language (here, French). He also has some good stuff to say on why we should be multilingual.
